a friend once said potatoes are better gifts for lovers than roses...
bourgeoisbuffoon.blogspot.com/2007/04/est-nuovo-rosa.html
interesting, right ?
but hey...if we can boil down to potatoes then why not garlic ?
it's stronger, it has 'essence', shoots don't sprout around and create a mess...and of course, it lives much longer than a potato.
from an angle, garlic is closer to looking heart-shaped than a potato is.
give garlic the credit, man
because gifting ur sweetheart a garlic, says :
''hey darling, you're plain to look at...and even if the world finds u stinky...
on the long run, you're great for my heart !!!'' :)
hail, garlic !

hmm...no gross?? well whatever happened to freedom of speech :P
neways, grossing anyone out was not the intention. Trivialising the whole discussion was the aim.
I am not much of a gifting kind of guy, 'cause I feel that their importance has been blown up by some clever marketing..
It is just that the thing between two people cannot be measured/valued in terms of gifts/things. to quote others
"The best things in life are not things"
on the questions post..u hit the nail on the head.
on the humility/pride - self esteem is something that u overlooked - that fine line between humility and pride.
cheers
amazing i wonder how i never thought of this before!!!!
though i find strawberries are a wee bit better no?
they dont last long yet the red is admirable
Ahhhh... Nice to see like-minded(?) ppl around!
How do we give both Potato and Garlic its due place in the saga of romance?
How about Potatoes replacing roses and Garlics replacing chocolates? :D
@ sudu : sure thing !
devise a whole new meaning of romance !!
there's gotta be something to replace drippy greeting cards with red roses too :) suggest...
A McDonald's flyer? With the fries in focus?? :))
this is going to end up as one verry stinky love story
